Mission

Kaikai Kiki has been creating works in the world of "contemporary art" for more than 20 years since the establishment of its predecessor, HIROPON FACTORY, in 1996. To date, the organization has transformed into an organization of more than 250 people in total, with offices, studios, and stores in Tokyo, Saitama, Nakano, Kyoto, and New York, both in Japan and abroad. In addition to the production of artworks, we have also been actively engaged in the discovery, nurturing, and management of the next generation of internationally influential artists. In the world of contemporary art, which continues to expand internationally, Kaikai Kiki has been exploring its frontiers for more than 20 years. We would like to introduce the mission of Kaikai Kiki as an organization and as a company.

Mission

  • Development and production of original "contemporary art" or art works in the broadest sense of the word.
  • Discovery and development of artists.
  • Sustain or increase the value of the products.
  • To make all of them "the best in the world".
  • The business of these.
The world of "contemporary art" continues to expand.
It has become a figure that cannot be compared to what it was 20 years ago when we made our debut.
In terms of business, it has become unbelievably inflated and huge, and in terms of expression, it has become more abstract and difficult, but it is a worldview that is possible to exist in.
Our business is to build a bridge between this strange growth of "contemporary art" and the world of entertainment for people to enjoy.
If you have a chance to work with us, we would be happy to work with you.
I look forward to working with you.
Takashi Murakami
Fostering the next generation of artists
Kaikai Kiki is also involved in the education and training of the next generation of artists.
Art is a journey with a long road and no end in sight.
We gladly support comrades who walk this long and arduous road together.
We want to give the young artists we discover at Kaikai Kiki as much opportunity and management support as possible, in order to bring out their talents to the utmost limit and produce the best work possible, so that they can succeed in the art world.
We will explore new techniques and fields of expression with these artists as they are presented in high quality exhibitions around the world, have their work included in good collections, and participate in events that will become major artistic events, gradually expanding in scale.
Living in the arts, there is a part of me that is intensely personal and resonates with others on a deeper level than I could otherwise achieve, and that flexibility makes me happy. I believe in the power of art to smash down boundaries, oppression, and prejudice that hinder freedom.
Takashi Murakami
